Living in Mumbai means constantly chasing deadlines, traffic, and crowded local trains. As a budget solo traveler, I often look for destinations that don't require long travel hours but still make me feel like I've escaped into another world. One such place that surprised me was Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Karjat.

Located just around 70 km from Mumbai and surrounded by the lush Sahyadri Mountains, this resort is ideal for anyone looking to slow down, breathe fresh air, and spend a relaxing weekend close to nature. While Karjat is beautiful throughout the year, the monsoon season transforms the entire landscape into a paradise of waterfalls, mist-covered hills, and endless greenery, making it my favourite time to visit.
How to Reach Radisson Blu Karjat from Mumbai?
By Road: The most convenient and comfortable method to get to Radisson Blu Karjat is by road. It is roughly 70 km from Mumbai, with a travel time of about 2 to 2.5 hours, depending on traffic conditions.
If you're travelling with family or friends, I highly recommend booking a round-trip cab from Mumbai. It allows you to enjoy the scenic drive without worrying about navigation, parking, or driving back after a relaxing weekend.
By Train: Karjat is well connected by Mumbai's Central Railway suburban and long-distance train network. Board a train from Mumbai CSMT, Dadar, Thane, or Kalyan to Karjat Railway Station. From Karjat Station, the resort is approximately 8–10 km away.
Since local transport availability can vary, especially during monsoon, pre-booking a round-trip cab from Karjat Railway Station is the most convenient option for a hassle-free journey to and from the resort.
What Make This Resort Special?
Karjat has always been one of Maharashtra's favourite weekend destinations. Whether you're a solo traveler looking for peace, a couple planning a romantic escape, or a family wanting a refreshing break, the destination offers something for everyone.
The drive itself is part of the experience. As you leave Mumbai behind, the concrete skyline slowly gives way to rolling hills, winding roads, rice fields, and seasonal waterfalls that make you want to stop every few kilometres for photographs.
Radission Blu Karjat is a year-round destination.
Monsoon (June to September): The most magical season with waterfalls, misty mountains, lush greenery, and pleasant weather.
Winter (October to February): Ideal for sightseeing, trekking, cycling, and outdoor activities.
Summer (March to May): A peaceful getaway where you can enjoy the resort's pool and indoor facilities.
If you ask me, monsoon is when Karjat truly comes alive.
Escape the Chaos of Mumbai at Radisson Blu Karjat
Tucked away amidst the foothills of the Sahyadris with beautiful views of the Ulhas River, Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Karjat strikes a wonderful balance between luxury and nature.
The property features spacious and elegantly designed rooms that overlook either the mountains or beautifully landscaped gardens. Whether you're travelling solo with a book, planning a romantic weekend, or simply looking to recharge, the peaceful surroundings make it easy to disconnect from city life.
One of my favourite spots was the outdoor swimming pool. During monsoon, swimming while watching rain clouds drift across the mountains is an experience that feels almost therapeutic.
The all-day dining restaurant offers a good variety of Indian and international cuisine, making it convenient if you simply want to stay within the property and relax throughout your vacation.
As someone who usually prefers budget travel, I believe every trip should deliver value rather than just luxury.
Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Karjat offers exactly that—a peaceful environment, excellent location, comfortable rooms, beautiful mountain views, and enough space to simply unwind. You don't have to travel hundreds of kilometres to experience a refreshing break from city life.
Sometimes the perfect vacation is just a couple of hours away.
A refreshing blend of comfort, nature, and convenience, Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Karjat is one of the finest weekend escapes from Mumbai. Whether you're travelling solo to recharge or planning a relaxing getaway with loved ones, this retreat offers the perfect opportunity to slow down and reconnect with nature.
Rather than packing your itinerary with activities, Radisson Blu Karjat encourages you to embrace slow travel.
Spend your morning enjoying mountain views with a cup of coffee.
Take a leisurely walk around the property.
Relax beside the swimming pool.
Treat yourself to a rejuvenating spa session.
Watch the rain paint the Sahyadris in different shades of green.
Sometimes, doing absolutely nothing is the best part of travelling.
If you're planning your next weekend escape from Mumbai, especially during the monsoon season, this resort deserves a place on your shortlist.
